Alex is a creative and collaborative Cinematographer and Camera Operator, based near Manchester and available for work across the UK and internationally. His diverse portfolio spans feature films, television, and commercials. He is a full member of the Guild of British Camera Technicians.
Alex is known as the series cinematographer for Sky’s flagship award-winning comedy Brassic. He took on the role during series 4, and subsequently shot all of series 5 and 6 as well as 2023’s Christmas Special. He was the cinematographer for BBC3’s Overshadowed, which was praised for its innovative and immersive photography. Other television credits include various second unit cinematographer roles including for BBC1’s The Syndicate, and ITV’s Malpractice.
Amongst other features, Alex shot The York Witches Society and Widows Walk. Alex’s outstanding cinematography on Widows Walk led to him receiving the award for best cinematography at New York’s Chelsea Film Festival). He has also received multiple award nominations for In Extremis, and Entity.
