Alex has always had a passion for visual story
telling, and began working as a cinematographer and gaffer following a background in photography. This dual approach has ensured a technical and creative foundation to his cinematography skills.

Recent work has included completion of principle photography for the feature Entity, starring Dervla Kirwan and Charlotte Riley. In 2010 Alex shot On the Shoulders of Giants for Water on the Rock, and undertook assistant camera positions on a number of other features. He has shot and assisted across a diverse range of shorts, adverts, and band promos.

Shorts have included Mr Bojagi, starring Brian Blessed and Hildegard Neil, which was awarded the British Lion Award for best achievement in independent cinema, and Best Actor awards, at the British Independent Film Festival 2010. The film also received the Jury Award at the London Independent Film Festival 2010.

The majority of Alex's work has utilised digital cinematography. Whilst he retains a passion for film, he enjoys the challenges and opportunities provided by the new medium.
