Alex has always had a passion for visual story telling, and began working as a cinematographer and gaffer following a background in photography. This dual approach has ensured a technical and creative foundation to his cinematography skills.

Recent work has included shooting the short film Mr Bojagi, starring Brian Blessed and Hildegard Neil, and gaffering the feature One in Ten for Artificial Eye. Alex has also shot a diverse range of band promos, and focus pulled for a variety of shorts including a number funded by the UK Film Council. As gaffer or spark, Alex has welcomed the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects and to collaborate with award winning Directors of Photography. Corporate clients have ranged from Agent Provocateur to the Royal Bank of Scotland.

The majority of Alex's work has utilised digital cinematography. Whilst he retains a passion for film, he enjoys the challenges of ensuring that the new medium continues to bring a breathtaking result.

Alex holds a clean UK driving licence that includes permission to drive category D1 vehicles, and an unrestricted passport. He has successfully completed the City and Guilds certification in the Requirements for Electrical Installations (17th Edition).
